WRRA (Winnemucca Regional Raceway Association) is an IRS-recognized non-profit corporation that forms an umbrella organization for several motorsports sub-groups. The WRRA’s Board of Directors oversee the operation and development of the entire raceway facility, but the actual racing events, once approved by the Board, are conducted by the sub-groups. The group members have specific interests that lie in certain fields, such as stock-cars, motocross, sand drags etc.

Presently the raceway developments include a banked, well-lit, clay-surfaced, ¼ mile dirt track, a moto-cross track approximately 1.7 miles in length, and a sand-drag course. Events at each of these facilities are organized and conducted by members with these main interests, although many people are members of more than one of the groups.

Among our planned future developments at WRR are permanent restrooms, a permanent concession/souvenir stand, an a.t.v. trails/training course, a paved ¼ mile drag-strip, and a paved road course. Another source of pride to the raceway is a major landscaping project that has been begun near the track entrance, and the plantings are coming along very well.

We take great pride in the raceway’s reputation as being the friendliest one around, and have enjoyed great support from the community and local businesses and government in developing it so far. We have enjoyed having competitors travel from as far as central California and the Las Vegas area to participate in events here, as well as many from the Reno-Sparks, Carson City-Gardnerville, and Elko-Wells areas supporting us also. The future only looks better yet.
